Fleet Commonality and Mergers

I have been playing a few months now and i am a little bit more educated about airplanes now (thanks airwaysim for this piece of culture that I was missing and that I truly enjoy), I was wondering if fleet commonality takes in consideration the numerous mergers that took place in the industry troughout the years.

Example: British Aerospace / BAe systems

Douglas / McDonnel Douglas

De havilland / Dehavilland canada

and so on?

Is that something existant or will it be integrated in the  future?

The reasoning is that I should not be charged more if the plane is basically the same and the name of the company is different...

I don't think any are.  I only know for definite about BAe.

For example, British Aerospace/Bae Systems:

The BAe 146 was superseeded by the AVRO RJ series, which was a redesign despite the apparent aesthetic similarities, so this has no commonality. 
The ATP was a development of the HS748, but again a new design, so no commonality here either. 
Jetstreams were originally a Handley Page designed aircraft, but are only BAe in the game.


Thinking about the others quickly, Bombardier Q400s are in a different group to Dash-8s, as they're a different design. 

DC-9s, MD-80s and MD-90s are all seperate too - This thread explains this well.

This list shows all the aircraft in the game, but if the aircraft are listed under a different manufacturer then they won't share fleet commonality.
