Do they ever lengthen runways? Some of the SA runways could use an extra 500m is there anyway to get around this with LH.\?

There are some 500m long runways, but I haven't found any aircraft able to operate under 700m runways

If 500-800m are added to some of the bigger airport in SA then it would open up SA a ton.

All the airports in the game are modeled as they are today.  So, no, none get longer.  And for that matter many are longer than they should be when playing early era games.
