Hi,

maybe stupid question but is there a way to get a hand on the average ticket price for a specific route? Or is it just possible to play with the ticket prices.

Thanks

Is there really no answer to this question? Or is it just too stupid to ask  :D

Not really. Ticket prices are not shown to anyone but you.

QuoteOr is it just possible to play with the ticket prices.

They are partly based on aircraft (prop/jet/non-stop/tech stop/seat quality).

I would recommend you never go over 5% default. Even with RI 100 and CI 100, loadfactor will drop sharply.

Hope that helps.

Hi Talentz,

thanks but than the game is not really a copy of the real world. In the real world an airline could easily compare the market pricing.
Maybe something that can be improved. Something like an average ticket price per route.

That has been discussed much in the past and it is not nearly as simple as you may think at first, as the pricing systems are hugely complex things with real airlines,. Try a search for the other threads..

When increasing prices the loadfactor drop is very steep as mentioned. What about after something like 9/11 when airlines raised fares substantially and people still flew, albeit at considerably lower levels? The planes weren't empty. In anycase if you have good load factors and your the only one flying the route shouldn't you control the prices until competition comes in and forces them lower?

I would disagree there is still price elasticity in the market. Sure you are more flexible if you are the only one flying the route but then if you charge way to much people will still consider to fly at all at that price.
What would be interesting is a seasonal development on the demand especially for vacation destinations.
