hi,
operating a route,
the outbound leg has 0% LF for F class and the return leg has 100% LF.
is that normal?

y and c class are fine each way.

thanks.

It depends on the F class LF demand..... the amount of seats in F class by competitors and their prices but yes it can happen.

Example if the F class LF demand on a route is 20 seats both directions. you competitors all fly triangulated routes (meaning they don't have a return flight) but their F class prices is 75% less than yours and they provide more than the 20 seat F class demand it can happen

I bet that there are some routes out there that have demand 1 way and not the other.  It isn't realistic....

If you and I both have similar aircraft, and I have good marketing and loyalty...

You fly from point A to Point B and back to A
I fly from point A to B to C and back to point A

I may fill up my cabin from point A to point B, but I am leaving B to A (the return leg) alone and you get all the passengers for that leg alone.

Get it?

I was based in Mumbai in Jet age 2 and there was 1000 pax a day demand to LAX and 200 pax a day demand back. Once I ran out of other routes I filled up that route still made some money.

catspaw.

yeah i suppose. its interesting though.

as  an exercise, i dropped the empty F class leg fair way way down, nearly to c class, and no takers.
