CLEAR SKIES ☆☆☆☆☆ WORLDWIDE

Today reporters were summoned to Johannesburg South Africa for the official announcement of "Clear Skies entering the jet age".... but with PROPS?

Yes, Clear Skies is the largest operator of the ultra long range L1649A Starliner with massive 18 cylinder 3400 HP engines allowing it to fly non stop to destinations as far as 4700NM away, lined up were 50 starliners, a truly majestic sight to behold, but no its not even half the size and much slower than the aircraft we were summoned to see, It was utterly Dwarfed in comparison to the 7 MASSIVE TU-114 Turboprops. While capable of carrying 220 passengers, these ultra luxurious aircraft carry around 150 passengers and has been called a flying palace in the sky by the passengers lucky enough to have flown on one of the flights that it has performed since February of this year.

Here we can see the crowd of people lining up to board the massive aircraft.

The TU-114 is powered by 4 Kuznetsov 12,500 HP Jet Turbines in a Twin Contra-rotating Turbo-propeller configuration. Over 3 Times more powerful than the engines on the Connies it carries twice the passengers faster than a P51 and Nearly as fast as a ME-262 fighterjet, albeit much more reliable. So powerful that it creates clouds of dust on takeoff as it clears gravel off the runway with a THUNDEROUS Roar, that you can feel vibrating in your chest.

This amazing aircraft surpasses all aircraft in the world in size, capacity, payload and is 2nd in range only to the L1649A. While the aircraft is capable of flying 220 passengers, it is optimized by clear skies to operate in a 3 class configuration.

First Class Has sleeper Cabins, with a small desk inside as well as the first to be served by our onboard personal chef, as the dining room is used for in flight meals for all passengers on the aircraft.

The TU-114 also has a womens botique in the aft Lavoratory, something that Boeing and Douglas have been unable to achieve.

CLEAR SKIES ☆☆☆☆☆ WORLDWIDE
The Only Way To Fly

These first 7 TU-114's are flying JNB-LHR 3x per day and 1x per day to Hong Kong, connecting the west to the east. With operations expected to become nearly hourly to LHR with up to 12 flights per day.

Reporters asked, what about all of these Starliners that were recently purchased?

The CEO stated that they will continue to operate for many years still to smaller routes that don't need such large and fast aircraft, it is optimized for 60-85 passengers compared to 100-150 for the DC-8 and 140-192 for the TU-114. We also expect Connie's to continue to fly out of Cape Town even as the TU-114's and DC-8's are providing a higher quality service to our customers in the largest cities on the planet.  We are afterall a worldwide airline and our service should reach as many destinations on the globe as possible.  While London is the Gateway to the world in the north, Johannesburg will be the gateway to the world in the south, proudly carrying the South African flag to every destination in the world.

The Reporter Remarked,
Speaking of the DC-8, We noticed a few of Douglas DC-8's first generation jets sitting in a corner of the ramp in the distance away from the announcement, why is that
?

The CEO said "oh, we've acquired an order for 56 of them and they will fly with us after upgrades later this year, but they are also smaller and much less impressive." They are slightly faster, but take lots of runway, use tons of gas, seat less passengers, and don't currently even have the range to reach North Africa, when upgraded however, they will be the first to fly to mid sized destinations in Europe, before being replaced by our ultra luxurious TU-114's."

"Perhaps we will re-consider Douglas or Boeing when their options are more mature than they are currently."  "For now we have over 100TU-114 that will arrive for use prior to 1966"

Looking for something more, the reporters asked what the plans are for the future?

With a twinkle in his eye the CEO of clear skies said oh, well I have been in contact with all of the large aircraft manufacturers in the world along with several other large and prestigious airlines, we're seeking Larger, faster, and longer range aircraft.

There are some on the drawing boards and we have plans for them, but these manufacturers have not yet announced them, Except for the B707-320B, which is a fine aircraft, but even if we ordered them now, they wouldn't arrive until 1968, while their range is impressive, they still can't fly non stop without being at slightly less than 1/2 passenger load and we expect other options to be available by then, which should well Suit our needs as an airline.
