Boeing and McDonnell Douglas Aircraft

At the beginning of the game Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft were both shown under the Boeing fleet commonality banner.  Now they are shown as separate which means I have for manufacturers instead of 3.  I now am being penalized for having 4 aircraft types. The merger took place in 1997 so why are they still considered as separate.  It doesn't seem right or fair.

I've never observed this, which fleets? Actually I think under fleet info there is some crossover, but I don't rely on that, I look the fleet on the aircraft info page.

Remember groups of fleets are based on common type ratings as in the real world, approximately! So no there is no rating for both Boeing and McD. Exceptions to this are 757/767, and the 330/350s

Commonality isn't based on manufacturer, but more so commonality mostly based on real world type ratings (and that have the same cruise speed).

I suspect the confusion you may have is regarding the MD80/90 + Boeing 717 being in the same fleet group. This is because the 717 was originally the MD-95 and is largely similar to the MD80/90 family as opposed to any other Boeing planes. This was done a few years back for game playability purposes....
