More Aircraft Please

Hi Sami - really enjoying the game, many thanks. But puzzled at some of the "missing aircraft", especially in the early years. Here is my priority list

Beech 45 - used widely by feederlines, small feight oprations etc and in production until 1969 with 9,000 built. A really strange omission.
CV580 and CV680 Turboprop Conversions
Canadair DC4M Argonaut.

How about it?

Your best bet is to try to dig up technical specs and/or FOM's for these types and add them here. I know the CV conversions have been discussed and IIRC the information is available to add them, the other two I have not seen mentioned.

The Argonaut is just a DC4, it's probably not needed to clutter the line more than it already is.

The Beech 45 is interesting, but flies a niche that is not much used by player of the game, a niche with already several models. As Zombie Slayer says : if you want it, find accurate specs, especially about take-off, landing, and fuel consumption performances. Only then Sami might have a look.

The Convair conversion are by far the most interesting gamewise, but they always hit the limit of the game engine : they're sensibly quicker than their piston counterpart, which means they can't be part of the same group. The dornier 328 Jet suffers from the same problem. It's hard to completely revamp the game engine for just those 2 families.

This is an opportunity for improved commonality function. Combine like or similar types (757/767, all 737 models, all Dash 8 models, for example) while keeping the "type" separate due to speed. We already have the transfer to a different aircraft type feature, seems this would be an extension of that. Same type for commonality, different for differing flight characteristics.

Lets add DC9/MD80/MD90 to that list too  ;D

I hadn't realised that the game engine required all aircraft in the same group had to have the same speed - which explains some of the strange splits in groupings. I don't think I know enough to suggest a way around that, but I can do research on tech specs (a task which appeals to my inner nerd) and see if Sami would be interested in adding one or two new aircraft.
