Staff Salaries

Just wandering if there is a hard limit on how much staff salaries can go beyond the "suggested" wage if left on automatic.
I have left mine on automatic since the beginning (18 years) and some wage categories have reached ~35% over suggested wage, others are at roughly ~20% over, while some are exactly as suggested. I'm inclined to leave it that way to avoid CI hit unless the difference keeps groing with no end in sight....

Thanks for feedback!!!

Going to manual adjusting can be dangerous, however seeing such discrepancies with automatic, I tend to use manual unless I can't log in for a few days, or just a few minutes here and there (and thus could miss the "raise salaries" or "strike threat" messages).

35% is very high in absolute, but it also depends which categories are impacted the most, and which country you play in. Nonetheless, I'd still advise you to go to manual for a few game months so the gap can reduce. Then, go back to automatic if you want.

In a previous game, after leaving them alone for 50+ years, I've seen salaries as high as 60% above "suggested".  To be honest though, I'm not sure how accurate the sugegsted figure is anyway - it seems to vary wildly. As you've noticed some groups are drastically too high while some are just right.  In the past, I've lowered salaries to match the suggested value only to find that value immediately increases to what the salaries previously were. It all seems a bit of a minefield and now I just leave it alone.

I do manual just for this reason and even delay raises.
