Marketing - how much does it work?

Does anyone have an idea if the marketing campaign works? It cost more and more when you open new routes and I have no idea how much does it help... Maybe can an airline survive without campaign or with just one kind of the available campaigns?

Use route specific campaigns on new routes with high demand to see faster profits, or to help compete against other airlines flying the same route.  Obviously don't spend money on a route specific campaign for a route that you're already at 100 image.

Company image is important.  Higher image allows you to charge more and compete against other airlines better.  My company image in BW1 is over 75 now, and I'm smashing my local competitors.

And mine reached 60 and doesn't want to grow anymore that's why I ask... But I plan to open new base, I suppose it will make my campaing image grow.  :P

Your image won't improve without marketing campaigns. More specifically "worldwide" market campaigns. They're not cheap but they are worth it in the long run. There are currently 8 airlines in BW2 with 100 image and they're all large enough (and more importantly profitable enough) to run worldwide campaigns. You'll likely have to step up slowly from "base country" to "continent of my base country" etc depending on how profitable you are but it can be done.

Side note: they get more expensive as your airline grows. I have one of the larger fleets in the current BW2 and it costs about 20mil/week for the worldwide television campaign alone BUT my CI is slowly increasing through the upper 80s.

Hey,

If you are running a successful airline, and get company image to a certain level when you remove excessive marketing the company image falls.
Is there any way to keep it more static after you have reached a certain level.

i.e. I use TV marketing which is quite expensive for 2 months and reach CI of 60. As soon as the campaign is over, the image starts falling again...

Thank you guy for your answers and advises. I really appreciate it!

Conclusion: marketing campaign continues.   :P
