The new Game World #1 will open on Sunday May 22nd

Game World #1 is one of the four main airline sim scenarios at AirwaySim and this new game starts again in the year 1960 and continues to 2030. Be in charge of your own airline for 70 years, from the Early Days era all the way to the Future.

You can already pre-join this upcoming game world:
  • Go to the Game Area and you will find this new game waiting for you there.

  • There click the 'pre-join this game' button and you will be signed up to the game queue. This is free and you can decide later if you actually wish to play.

  • We will e-mail you to remind when the game has opened and you can start your airline. The game is in 'pause' mode for the first 24 hours to allow everyone to take their preferred starting positions.

The opening time of this game world will be at 12.00 UTC on Sunday May 22nd. (That's 8am@NYC, 13.00@London and 21:00@Tokyo.)

This game world will follow the standard settings for long AirwaySim games:
  • Standard difficulty level

  • All airports, all aircraft models and all features are included.

  • Additional base airports follow the standard rules. Remember that the "EU openskies" won't be available until the late 1990s.

  • Alliances are available to be formed from the first day.

  • Game's speed is 25 minutes per day until 1990, 30 minutes between 1990 and 2010 and 35 minutes per game day after that.

  • The overall passenger demand has been increased for the early era to accommodate more players (= non-historical data).

  • Fuel prices are customized and may not follow real world history at all times. Random world events are there, as usual, to create unknown events.

  • Number of airport slots, aircraft production rates, and other economy related factors are increased to take into account the player numbers.

  • Start-up cash is plentiful to give you a good start, also later in the game (since the money increases over time). Part of the money is issued as loans.

  • You can of course also earn the Achievements from this game.

I have an idea for the future which could be introduced easily:

Africa is due to its lack of demand not popular. Wouldn't it be interesting to open the entire continent to open bases for Africa based Airlines?
