I don't know about other nations, but in the U.S. 75% of Virgin America is owned by Americans, as U.S. law prevents foreign entities from owning more than 25% of an airline.

In addition, Virgin America cannot sell tickets on V-Atlantic, and vice-versa.

The OP was to point out that Branson has circumvented local protectionist laws and successfully expanded his empire to territories that he has no 'right' to be involved in due to his nationality.

He doesn't derive every cent from every bunsinesses profit, but he is the CEO of an airline/brand with a CI of 100, and is using that all over the world. He IS a major shareholder of every airline his brand is associated with.

This game can simply model that if it chooses to. In Tel Aviv I would have gladly given away 50%+ of my local profits and accepted competition restrictions, just for something else to do with my comfortable monopoly and millions of easy money.

This might just also cause airlines with a similar monopoly to also 'throw' their money away on such a venture, and not clog up the order books for the latest a/c that I don't need, but I buy and lease ( at a premium ) for the hell of it.

I agree 100% with this..

I wish that when you started the game, you began with a sum of money (just like now), and an aviation investment company. The company would be able to start airlines, as well as buy and sell shares/stock issued by other airlines.

The game really needs an incentive to spend more money... not only on new aircraft.

Involvement of different airlines in 1 airline? But then who controls it?
