Changing the games abit

Hi all,
I've been in Airway Sim a while and for various reasons I've never been able to join a game right at the start, so its the same old usual i go bankrupt within a few weeks coz everywhere good is gone. My proposition is either a system where you the biggest HUBS (Heathrow, Schipol, El Prat etc etc) until a certain time into the game, so the people joining in the middle aren't left behind (This happens so much in MT) or where as you get more experienced in the game, your not allowed to start at the busiest HUBS.

This is just a proposition, any critism/improvements welcome. Just what I thought could make AWS much more enjoyable

P.S i know there is a post like this somewhere already but I couldnt find it, and I know how much hard work goes on behind the scenes at AWS and I'm definatly not trying to take credit away from them

This is exactly the same as in the Feature requests.....
Anyhow, I won't have LHR taken off me!! Just because you are unable to join a game in the beginning, why shall all of us suffer for your bad time management?! If you have a meeting, say you gotta use the toilet, if you are in school, do the same, or just do it under the table, I got 2nd airline to found by opening my airline from my iPod under my table in Geography lesson, besides that Game world's beginnings are 24hrs the firts day, and if you missed that, bad for you, but it was plenty of time.

Seriously: did you ever think of a secondary airport instead?! Or just wait for some of the big BKs halfway through a game!?

I hope that gets at least a 90% denial!! From my side definitely 2 million times a no.

P.S. wait for a Euro/US challenge, where the big airports are usually not open for players anyways...

You should first try to run a medium sized airline somewhere out of the big hubs to hone your skills. Even if you could get to a major airport at the beginning of a game you would be wiped out quite swiftly by the more experienced players. Playing a competitive airline at a major airport require not only a good amount of skill but also virtually unlimited time to play the game. I know the game good enough to not go to big hubs - I don't have the time it requires to play there. Couple of times per day after work just don't cut it. Anyway I enjoy creating profitable small to medium sized airlines to the capitals of smaller countries. There one can actually succeed better when joining late (better used ac availability). And even if you want to be big some day this is the path that leads there.

There are of course some problems within the game engine that blocks late attenders off the major airports, but that should not be your problem at the moment. I'm not sure how much experience you have, but if you haven't build a profitable 40-60 aircraft company yet I encourage you to take that as your next goal. That sized airline can be build when entering anytime, based out of the most competition. Then make your next goal to base somewhere with a similar sized airline and outgrow it! After successfully completing these task you can start to worry about starting at beginning of a game somewhere with growth potential to hundreds of aircraft.

This was not meant to be a rant but some advice to help you enjoy the game. Happy gaming!

Seriously Jona L., I think you should request a "reserve airport" feature. Next game world I'll make sure I base at LHR just to bug you...  

Chrisadams, plenty of places where to start and run a successfull airline, bigger hubs taken is no excuse.

Totally pointless... Being based at big airport doesn't automatically gives you a successful jump start against other players. It's a matter of being good enough. There are succesfull player flying out of other apos that are not in the top 10...
