I didn't take out a loan, but I have one?

Drax Air

Although beginner to this sim, im not one to airport sims, or running a virtual airline, in second life, I fly commercial British airways and virgin Falcons, from my land (BAA) British Airport Athourity. All my planes, cost real USA$ although the currency is called LindenDollars. All have physics engines, and flaps plus strobes and nav lights, plus displayed height. doors and landing gear status. Unlike here, airline owners and individuals arent restricted to using real Airline Logos and repaints, im surprised Airways Sim wont allow real ailrines logos and companys, because you never see them flying, as I fly mine into the many airports in the huge area called "Blakes Seas" in SL.

Many people have Turboprops and boeing 737s  DC10s etc with Swissair / Airfrance / BA / MartinAir /Fedex / KLM /  so why do  Airways Sim deem real airlines not be used?

The only problem I have so far in this sim, is, although my routes are making a profit, is im going into negative balance, by chance I looked in Loans, and found I had one I didn't ask for, which its finance for it is not possible to sustain. I want to close it, I only want a loan, if I think I need it, which in Most sims, I rarely do. The amount it says I owe is just under 1Million USD. But I did not take this loan out?

So where did it come from, and how do I delete it, so i can return to the black asap.

Im really hoping, that this is not an automatic loan, from the start up, As I wont accept that scenario, Airport / Airline Sims give You a basic working capital to start you off, if You take out loans later, then thats your decision. But if this loan is for paying back the original amount given to start you off, then I wont continue to operate this game, as I dont see the fairness of starting this sim, with a Loan around your neck, when you only have one aircraft to use, and with these insane maintenance slots making more than 2 flight plans almost impossible. because they always clash, however I move the maint' slots or the Flight slots, I always get an error, with trying to get a third flight plan going. I have 2 planes on order, only BAE small ones, but good for regional travel. But by the time they come, with this unapproved loan I have, I be out of the market within a 3-4 days at the rate of loss, due to this Loan.

Any support on this matter appreciated, before I decide what to do

thanks Mike

I don't understand what you mean by you fly virgin falcons from your land  :-\ ... but Unfortunately it is a loan that you start off with in the beginner game... you start off with 3 million dollars USD and a 1 million dollar USD Loan = 4 million.... and YOU definately shouldnt have bought new aircraft ...thats a bad move when starting out both in real life and in airwaysim

Hi and welcome to Airwaysim!

Airwaysim's main goal is to be as realistic as possible. This includes the most accurate data of Aircraft models, airports, and most recently, world population data for accurate passenger calculations. The aim here is to give the player the ability to run an airline, and as close to the way they are run in real life.
There is, however, still a lot to do in order to make the game perfect, but improvements come in steadily, almost weekly.

Currently, the game works on a principle, that every player founds their own company. They don't have too much money, so the only way to get capital is to get a loan in the start. With this loan, they can acquire their first aircrafts.
The loan amount is usually very small, and its interest rate even smaller (a lot smaller than you'd normally have if you took out a loan later on in the game). With only little work, the airline can make a profit in the first year to cover the loan. Alternatively, they can choose to keep that loan, and take another one to fund a more rapid expansion. This is, what majority of the players do, and pretty much what any company irl would do (if they had markets that weren't yet served, which is the case in AWS in the beginning).

Like mentioned, the game is updated constantly, and now there are plans to change how the starting capita is gained, which could lead to players not having a loan in the beginning.

I hope you will enjoy your stay here, and even if having a 'forced' loan (I myself regard loans a gift from heaven so I don't have to wait for (real) weeks to do something in the game) may sound something you disapprove, you should come up with a better alternative for it, and it will be implemented.

Thanks guys for information, on the Virgin Atlantic side and the BAA Land, this is a 65k square metres of land you can buy or rather rent, on what we call mainland, you have a certain amount of "prims" to build buildings, or buy ready made from the market place. Unfortunetly its very expensive to own land here, £40+ per week, paid to landowner // Estate manager.  i have about 12 planes, ranging from bell helicopters too A fully armed harrier with Sidewinder missiles, it has nozzles to adjust flow of thrust as the real aircraft has.

heres a picture of one of my Virgin falcons, made by a talented french guy, who also does a first class job of repainting Liverys, behind me you can see the KLM DC10.

The other picture is of me flying the falcon out of New Horizons Airport, hence still climbing at this point.

As far as the loan is concerned, thats bad news, I rather just have the 3mil and start off nice and easy, without a loan.   the 2 planes I ordered are leased used planes. I cant really see one Aircraft making enough profit, while waiting 2 weeks to gain new ones.  Most popular Aiports in europe are very highly trafficked, obviously with a 1,980 mile range,on a 737adv. Im limited to Europe. I chose Manchester Airport as I live only 60 miles from it. I go there quite often to the viewing park, Concorde is in its own show building, there to go over, at weekends, plus a BEA Trident 3.  My losses have gone to 87000 in the red in one real day.  I dont know why, I paid for the planes already, so theres no money going out there until they arrrive.   I keep going for now, but if I ever restart the game, I would personally pay the loan off first, before I did anything, maybe get a discount for early pay off, I dont know lol

But still think there should be an "option out" of the loan at start of the game, I wasnt even told I was getting a loan, so had no idea?

The loan amount is displayed on the page where you create your airline, next to airline money.

(and shown similarily at game world listings at the game area front page)

ta Sami, so much to take in of course on a complicated real life setting first time round huh!  , probably just missed it, Im such a Noob, that I thought I had to wait 2 weeks real time, to get new aircraft, they been delivered already,  Doh!! :-[

Better get them allocated out quick and do one or two A checks!

Cheers

well Im off im sorry to say, the loan payment didnt get paid last night, and despite best efforts,im  into the red from 750k to 1.5 million  overnight, despite taking removing television marketing.  Just to many outgoings, and the loan I didnt ask for.   most of any high passenger demand european airports, have far to many airlines trying to get a share.

I go back to flying my virtual ones lol

Good day, and have blue skys
