Dynamic fares

Okey, there are thousands of routes in the game (most domestic) with demand of 60 or lower a day. Even routes with demand is 16 or so. No-one will ever fly those routes as it is suicide in relation to your overhead. (route fees and marketing)

In reality these fares are exponentially higher then those on routes with 100+ pax demand.
Like the route below taken from a carrier in the UK

Or:

Now... If we charge our routes for the same price we'll be sure of empty seats throughout the aircraft.
That's why I think an update to the fare system would bring benefits to AWS users by creating more game play options and it might also attract moe players to the game itself.

A solution could be that for routes with 99 pax or less the super fare would be applied in game. Which could look something like this:

100 pax = Standard fare
80 pax = Standard fare +20%
50 pax = Standard fare +50%
30 pax = Standard fare +70%
20 pax = Standard fare +100%
10 pax = Standard fare +140%
Less then 10 pax = Standard fare +200%

Of course it's just an idea to help improve game play for those who wish not to play with 737's etc.

+1.

I am myself flying a few Islanders to the Greek Isles, and they are making monkey, but not a lot. (demand 10-20/day)
Another solution could be the previously mentioned subsidised route system.
Yet another solution could be to allow A-B-C-(D-C?)-B-A or similar where you could actually transport pax A-B, B-C, A-C and so on, which is quite common here in Norway on the subsidised routes with low demand.

While you're right that lower-population cities often have higher fares, I would say that's already been calculated in the suggested fare. If you charge the suggested fare on a route that has competition, you will lose out. Competition brings it down.

Let's face it: Not all destinations in the game or IRL will have air service unless it is subsidized by government. If that is what you are suggesting, I'm in favor of it, but I don't think it is.

Problem in this game is those routes are hard to get profitable, which is A: wasted information because it is under used, and B wasted Data space because no one is using the that data.

Subsidised is indeed good option for this problem as well.

When we get the ability for passengers to transfer flights, those 10 pax routes will become viable, since the passengers from the small airport going to other destinations (served by your hub) will be added to that total.

Still... those 10 pax will NEVER cover the costs for that, so the price should reflect the operational expanses. Which can only mean they have to be higher then default
