CI and Loans... hand in hand

Hello!

While trolling the forums, I ran across yet another "company in the red. zomg, wut?!" thread. Not to criticize the players who start these threads... but to them, having a negative company value means they must be doing bad. Even though we all know that negative value really means the player is pull loans out of thin air like a magician would pull a rabbit from its hat...

While the new players sees this as bad... you could say that they are common people and thus, this is what a common person would view it as.

Enter CI. If company image is the number value that the world views your airline (pax wise), then a negative company value would thus cause a problem, wouldn't? A company that looks "in the red" is seen as preforming badly. Even if its the complete opposite. The common person's perception is "oh, I guess they are doing bad"

With that established, I propose the following: Lets tie company value and CI together. Having a negative CV (company value) will cause a decline in CI, dependent on how much your in the red.

Slightly in the red... and CI is minimally effected. Further in the red you go, the bigger the drop in CI you have. Thus airlines that are 10m, 20, 30, 50m in the red would be in ever increasing danger of going under due the decreasing CI.

This would help prevent, the ever ease to gain free money (loans)
Give loans a heavy risk option - too big of a loan and you might not be able to recover (due to drop in CI, thus income loss)

Of course, 75% of AWS would start out by saying something like.. F*** off Talentz. The game has already be slowed down too much!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111

True, however, if CI represents what the common (pax) people view our airlines as.. its only natural that a company seen in the "red" would be thought of as doing bad.

Think of it this way: How many of you would book a flight with an airline whose public records show it struggling and operating in the red?

Public perception is vital to how a company is seen as, this day in age. It should have more effect then is currently represented in the game.

Thank you for time,

F*** off Talentz.....  ;D

But it's a +1 here. although the first 5 or 10 million should not be counted

I think this is a good, intuitive idea. I also agree with Maarten that first 5-10m shouldn't be counted. This is only for the airlines that have insane debts.

On another side point, shouldn't an airlines CI be viewable by other airlines as if the pax can see it so should your staff too; CV is already visible to other airlines.

Yes it should

Well. *quotes Maarten Otto*

If this is added, there should be a scheme to disguise our company value.  8)

CI should be kept hidden for the same sensitive reason as ticket prices. But I would like to see something like this.

I can agree that 5m-10m in the red shouldn't be counted. What I would like to see is the ending of massive CV in the red. 20m+ and such.

I wonder what Sami has to say about this... Im sure in the back of his head he's say " Yet another feature request talentz..?! -_-"

This is an interesting idea.

I think a big issue with game balance right now is the startup phase, especially 1.2. When these game worlds start we're trying to simulate airline traffic from 0 at an arbitrary date. This scenario really does punish the tardy, maybe too much so but thats completely debatable. Keep in mind there are no v1.2 worlds are in the 75%+ completed stage, so who knows what it will be like to be a startup in the late stages of ATB or MT2.

I think one solution that should be considered is AI airlines. How would you feel about starting scenarios at X year, but with AI airlines already in place with similar route/price/fleet structures as were present at that time? I think this could be desirable for some, but maybe not so much for others, so having game worlds starting from scratch would still be in demand.

ticket prices should not be hidden its hard to compete when you dont know what the competitor is doing.... In real life you would be able to see what the competition was charging
