IS THE NEXT GAME SOON

I find 10 years too short because you don't get to implement at least one fleet generation substitution, which can make a decisive competitive difference. I would also play a 30-year game! Nice idea! You would have at least two fleet generation cycles and a lot of competition to the end of it! Very tasty!

IF you want these large games, the best thing to do is the following:

And I know what's best because I am just that awesome.

1.  Limit the players to around 100-150
2.  Limit airport sizes.  Eliminate airports below 60%

Therefore, you are forced to compete.  There are not that many airports to simply take over. The airlines will all be trying to use medium to large planes on the same routes competing.

Well yes, but that will not work for my strategy: In JA2 right now, I am just getting to the point to compete very well with the incumbents. In that case, my fleet capacity is the advantage, using only DHC-7 on short routes. I can make a profit easily, while they fly their B737s which they put in, when no competition was in sight. This catching up late is what I like a lot. If there are not sufficient chances how to implement your growth and what basis upon to build it, I find it quite boring, as you wrote: Everybody will fight for the same planes, everybody will fly the same routes and end up in a distructive price war. Nobody will use niches and later on, no players are encouraged to join because you don't stand a chance of succeeding. Helpful to increase competition would rather be the second and third etc. hub-option. But let there be regional carriers and niche players. That is important to the game! 100-150 players will be a one shot on a small scale. If you don't stay big in the first 24 months, you're out. And that's it. I do not see increasing competition by limiting size or options.

Well 1982-2012 is thirty years. These games that we are playing are 17 years and they are talking almost 4 months to play.  A 30 year game would last well over 6 months

Yes, I know 1982-2012 is thirty years, but whether you play one long game or two games you'll still be playing AWS at some time. I just think that in a 30 year game the players would be able to cycle through various airplanes, try different strategies, feel the effects of different gas prices, etc..

I agree (and not because of the awesomeness factor) with Swiftus with regards to player limits too - but maybe raise them to 200 for Jet Age and 250 for Air Boom??

Just thoughts

Guys and Gals,

Do you honestly think that he will be starting another version 1.0 game?  1.1 is not complete.  Asking for new games is just pointless right now because Sami isn't going to have multiple game worlds running using different code.  He and the other admins would have a lot of trouble trying to stay on top of things.

We just got to suck it up and wait it out now.

who wants to pay 10 tokens to play a game 2/3rds done?  Why not lower the cost or have a 1 month game?
