Financially distressed airlines can prepare a recovery plan to raise cash and reduce costs instead of closing down. Available measures can include fleet reductions, base closures, staff reductions, loan extensions, aircraft order cancellations and other recovery actions.

The complete plan and its financial effects are shown before confirmation. After restructuring, the airline enters a supervision period and receives temporary protection from a new bank warnings while it begins its recovery. During this time opening new bases and acquiring additional aircraft is not possible at all.

Restructuring is intended as a rare last-resort option and becomes unavailable again for 50 game years after use.
