Quote from: stevojh on April 27, 2024, 09:14:25 AM- When creating schedules you can't just click the demand section and get a pop up, I have to right click and open in new window. Can we adopt a policy of "As few clicks as possible" for navigation around the website.

There is a bug report on this, but I cannot replicate the issue. Would need some more data to help me find the cause here.

I cannot schedule maintenance for my aircraft. The maintenance box appears and I can select the days but the time drop down boxes are greyed out and I can't select a time. Any ideas?

No ideas really since nobody else has reported of this, and works for me too. Did you try to reload the page and/or clear browser cache if there's some old data remaining?

Actually, found now the reason and should work again now! (was not working for about 5 minutes there)

Just noticed it seems to be a tab issue. On the primary tab it works fine. If I open a new tab or anymore after that, it doesn't work.

As someone who does a fair bit of UI design for a living, I'll try and make you some suggestions this weekend Sami if you're open to that - overall I feel that the design has both some hierarchy and balance issues that I'll try to pin-point :)

Yep, please, but then please focus only on the totally done new pages like Game-->Statistics, or Game-->Settings.

FlorianF

I'll have a look  :) . I'll give you some suggestions on the main pages as well, fixing some alignments can go a long way!

At first, I found the "notifications" tab (bell symbol) at the top right of the page to be confusing.

It seems that the tab lists notifications for every game on one page.

I would prefer that the tab would list only notifications for the specific game that I am playing.  Or, if this is not possible, at least the entry should list what game the tab refers to.

But it does? The notifications are now centralised - making it convenient to see when something happens without having to go through each game, and it says the name of the game there.

(maybe change the text to have the game name first in the notifications text?)

Karl

Yes, on second look, I do see the name of the game.  Sorry.

However, I do like your suggestion to possibly put the name of the game first.

I agree with fightman  the upgrade is actually a downgrade, making everything more difficult to achieve. I have played this game for about 6 years and unless this format improves i am out for good The thing that bothers me most is the SAMI does not really care in my view...its his way, or the highway !!

Yep, then it is bye bye for you. Sorry to say, but this is a big and hugely important upgrade for us in the long run and in the big picture, and if you fail to understand what we are doing here and what is our plan for development, then I can't help you any further.

Any further off-topic posts will be removed.

Firstly, Thank you.

As a long time player of the game, can I say that the PC version of the game looks fantastic and I can't wait to see what plans you have once the rebuild is complete.  I love the font you have chosen for example.

Secondly, and I know its a work in progress, but playing on my iPhone has become close to impossible.  Is there a better browser I can use in the interim?

I'd also prefer to see just the messages for the game I'm playing.  One problem I've found with the new way of doing this:  If you read a message from another game world you are automatically "transferred" into that world without any notification. Obviously this can lead to mistakes although the limit of mine was "oooh there were NONE of them available on used market yesterday, now there are over 200!"

Karl

I don't like being taken to another game either.  So, I now try to ignore the message bell with the red dot/number and only check messages in the game I am attending to at the moment.

I have had a corporate career for decades. Own my own company since 2010. Aviation is my passion because of my father who was a crew member for almost 50 years in Portugal. One thing I have learned while managing companies is that when things we initially thought to be outstanding don't work, you go back to where you were. Or if not tested enough prior to migration, disaster is a possibility. I am not saying. It happened so many times. One of our multinationals lost hundreds of million euros in Poland simply trying to implement an IT solution which almost led to disaster. They reversed course. I am happy you are totally confident and totally disregard us who have been supporting your AWS for so long. That said and because your answer to Saetta is totally unacceptable, even if he may have used strong wording, I am stopping my "affiliation" here. A business owner who cannot handle criticism from customers doesn't play by the same business rules as I do. Wish you Sami good luck and you can keep the credits I still have.

Over and out!

Sorry if you don't like the updates we are doing now and will be doing in the future (which will be solely thanks to this major update we now did). I am not trying to please everyone since that is impossible with any major update, or please only the persons who are the rudest or loudest (only AFTER the updates have been done!), and for sure not reverting anything back to the old site either (ridiculous thought!).

The migration to the new system has went 99% according to plans and without major problems and with only minimal downtime, and this is now a solid base to develop further (but sadly this big picture might be too difficult for some to understand)..

Thanks, see you.

p.s. there is still some layout tuning to be done, and if you encounter any further issues please remember to report them! Actively spending the development time to fine-tune the details asap.

Just give us the new seatmaps  ;D  ;D  ;D

The new UI took some time to adjust too. There are a couple extra clicks here and there, but overall, I've grown used to it at this point, and it's working pretty well for how new it is. I will also state that I have been impressed with how much Sami has done in these last 2 weeks to fix issues with the new UI. He has been very actively involved.

People don't like change. We are creatures of habit, and these changes are making us change habits. But once done, I think most people will be mostly ok with the new UI. We may all have our preferences, but we can't all have things exactly how we want. Thats just not realistic.

Especially if this UI is a stepping stone to changes that many of us do want...
