Minor updates and fixes

Updates

• More work in various backend systems related to the version upgrade of server software.
  
  
• Changes to backend systems after we switched to a new accounting platform.
  
  
• Maintenance ramp checks (CAA / FAA checks) focus now better on expired C/D checks, instead of A/B checks.
  

Fixes

• Handling fee aircraft selector at airport info page did not work.
  
  
• Chance on getting two or more ramp check fines of the same aircraft (while it was grounded) is finally fixed.
  
  
• Online hours did not cumulate to user's profiles after the forum update.
  
  
• Fixed forum's error about invalid request keys appearing sometimes during posting.

Minor updates and fixes

Updates

• Minor tweak to City Based Demand airport catchment radius, maximum is now 210 km (135 miles) instead of 200 km.
  
  
• Route editor's turnaround time selector now allows up to 12h selection.
  
  
• Technical change on how airport data is stored and handled in Statistics page (due to this the change indicators were temporarily reset).
  
  
• Hong Kong a/c registration format changed from B-Hxx to B-xxx to allow more registration combinations, since large airlines were not able to assign reg. no. to planes anymore. Note; this is not fully realistic, but changed due to gameplay reasons. (new games only)
  
  
• KBOS-KHYA and KBOS-KHYA routes added to exemption list for short routes ( = now allowed to fly).
  
  
• Time zone of airports in Turkey updated to UTC+3 (new games only).

Fixes

• Route number search did not work for very long route numbers in Scheduling page.
  
  
• Inactive account reminder emails were not always sent out correctly after the forum upgrade.

Updates

• Improved the generation of AI airlines, and added the possibility of AI airline going bust (after min. 3 years of operation, under the same rules of normal human-controlled airlines).
  
  
• Updates to backend calculation, allowing much faster operation of the "classroom game mode" at our customized educational simulations.
  
  

Fixes

• Liking a message from the game interface directly (vs. forums) did not store the time of the 'like'.
  
  
• Database error in one alliance management function fixed.
  
  
• Final results page didn't show airport names in statistics properly.
  
  
• In some cases an in-game message from the system automation was marked read before the player opened it.
  
  
• Some minor fixes here and there after the server migration and server software upgrade.

Removal of some obsolete features

While preparing for the AirwaySim v.1.5 upgrade required by the new website / UI, a couple of obsolete features have been removed:

• Forum signature banner generation removed from Settings page. This is practically not used by anyone anymore.
  
  
• Online logo designer removed from Settings page. This is a very old feature, and not fully functional any more on all platforms and updating it would delay other more meaningful updates.
  
  
• Airline / alliance name reservation feature is withdrawn due to limited use. This feature might be brought back later on. All existing name reservations are honored by the system until they expire but new reservations can't be made.

Minor fixes

Updates

• Further internal updates to the site/systems in preparation of the migration to the new website.

Fixes

• Alliance forums were not visible in the forum main page (new alliances created after the forum update).
  
  
• Only scheduled aircraft count towards the used aircraft purchase limits (number of planes that can be bought weekly).
  
  
• AI Brokers are now a bit more likely to buy an used aircraft from a human-controlled airline.

Backend updates

A new backend calculation system of AirwaySim v.2.0 has been taken into use.

This is a complete technical refresh of the server-side calculation system of the simulation, and is using the same & latest technology that is used in our new website and new game pages, also allowing more flexible management and monitoring of the server-side calculations, and enabling us to build new features with more ease.

There are no visible changes to the users / simulation with this update since the basic functionality remains the same with some small improvements / tweaks.
