7 Day Scheduling

Would appreciate it if there could be a button when creating schedules where if clicked once it will generate the schedules each day separately (so it can be assigned to different aircrafts) with same flight numbers instead of having to click it 7 times.

Yes, sami doesn't actually play the game himself so is hard put to see the need for such a feature. Already waiting for a 'why didn't anyone say anything earlier' post.

Well I'm sorry to hear that and also sorry to say that it's a ridiculous really. Can't believe it. I wouldn't wanna say much but since we are not playing this game for free we certainly are entitled to express our frustration. I can understand that sometimes there are too many requests and some maybe a low priority or unnecessary request but this feature is one of the most important. Surely if Sami reads this then maybe he can do something about it right away. I don't know anything about writing this codes etc but I am quote confident this feature wouldn't take too much time or efforts to implement at all. Sigh.....

The whole 7 day scheduling concept has never been part of the original design, and it is something that has been invented by players during the process, and that's also why there has been only a limited set of tools available for it (but some have been added like the overlapping flight numbering etc). For regular flights, non-longhaul, it is completely unnecessary in my mind.

However there are some ideas for the future that would make some conceptual changes to the route system as a whole, like being able to assign single route to different planes, but not sure yet of those, there are other more important matters at this time.

Please post any further comments on the subject to feature rq forum where you'll surely find a thread of this (but saying that it's been requested manymany times and declined is not true), so that the comments and ideas will be actually found and perhaps useful when developments are made in the future.

as a computer programmer myself, I'm always very annoyed by people who assume their wished feature is easy to code. Maybe it is, maybe not, but without a preliminary code analysis, you cannot know.

Requesting features is one thing(with my short-haul strategy, I don't need it anyways, by I understand long-haulers may need it), but asserting it is "not hard to include it" is wishful thinking. You just cannot know.

its amazing since the many months since this valuable feature was added, so many so called top tier airlines are still refusing to use it, leaving flight schedules a big fat fluttered mess.

If you add 7 day schedule to the first A/C, and when the second, third A/C delivered, they "create another route like this" from the first A/C, and shift the day to next day. But the system has already assigned new route numbers to all the routes when "create another route like this", unless you manually assign the route number

Perhaps, a "create another route like this for next day" button would solve your problem

No one said it's easy to code, just that it has been asked many times but the request has never been accepted. The game is updated frequently and, for example, I like very much the new "prediction" feature for fuel. But I guess that if, one month ago, the developer would have posted a poll asking the users: "Here are 2 features that require 1 month of development: easy 7-day scheduling and fuel price prediction from your staff. Which one should we work on?", now we would have easy 7-day scheduling.

I also agree with schansrichavala that paying for being able to play the game entitles us to express our whishes and concerns in a polite and propositive way and that this kind of feedback should be appreciated, rather than frowned upon. I also have the feeling that the game is managed, from time to time, as a hobby project rather than a business. And, as far as I understood from previous discussions, I think it actually is a side project of its main developer. Maybe it would make more sense, in this case, to set a yearly fundraising goal to keep the game running and ask players to donate such amount? I guess in the end I'd donate more than I pay now, but at least this would make answers such as "I don't have time for this now" or "I don't want to develop this, but I'm working on that instead" more easily digested by the user base.

Yes. Alberto has got it spot on. The 7-day scheduling is very useful not only for long hauls but also short hauls in my opinion. Sometimes you may want to add short flight between the long hauls also. Plus sometimes you may wanna swap flights here and there between aircrafts where space becomes available. Just a one click button that will generate the route schedule for each day differently with same flight numbers will be best and we can just plug each day into any slots we want. I think this feature is really underrated. Most people will use this method only i am sure if it's available. The "CREATE ANOTHER ROUTE FOR NEXT DAY" is a nice feature buy doesn't really help. The loading time is already long and to get a 7-day scheduling requires 14 clicks! when 1 click would just solve the problem!

this game is great i'll give you that and kudos to the creators and all the people behind the scenes but sometimes this scheduling thing makes me not wanna play because at times it seems like a lot of work.

Over the last 5 years I have seen the game improve and develop into a great simulation game. It is still getting better with every update, and I'm excited to see what the future will bring.

The cost vs. time spent is almost nothing and considering that it is not a "team" but a single guy developing this in his free time I think it is a pretty good result we have...

Honestly this game is already enough time demanding (for things that can be automated) that I will not loose more time in changing all the flight numbers in a splitted flight.
