I really hate it too. To be honest the region should be the planning field for the city, with the ability to zone x areas for friends to use. You should be able to make suburbs or townships within a city that can specialise whilst having an overall city income.

This is the general sound of almost everybody so maybe Maxis and EA will listen to 'us'. At least we've gotten a free game in return so I'm not really complaining too much :D

Yea, to make up for a botched SC5 release you can't play offline, they are giving away the 10-year old SC4 that you can.  The whole debacle has been amusing :)

I'm really undecided what free game to choose. Poor choices, no surprise of EA.

BF3, nah. NFS, too arcade.. etc. Might just go with the SC4 even though it's worth nothing :P

To be honest guys with the game, more pics or GTFO   :o

Don't get SC4 it's only £10 anyways for the deluxe version. Although worth every penny, and it actually works.

Agreed. I went for Mass Effect 3 given its the only semi worthwhile one there.

DS3 is a joke. And I already own SC4

You're all a bit unthankful imo...

They didn't HAVE to give out free games.

They didn't have to. But they owed it to all of us that put up with this joke of a launch.

Un-f....ing-believable.

Played some 5 days ago the last time, everything OK. Just now - open SC, open city, and the first thing it says "your city is not processing correctly, click to quit". And it's been "rolling back" for the last 15 minutes now.

Second or third time this has happened already and haven't played that long.

If the recycling is full, have you built the trade depot?

As it goes so that recycling collects the trash, makes metals of it, and trade depot sells the stuff then.

I have issues all the time with the game servers because I have slow, yet stable internet. It just never wants to connect, and always freezes up whilst it loads on menus and whatnot.

So by your logic, everytime your flight is delayed by even 5 minutes (which is a joke for most people) they should give you a free ticket to anywhere you want? I'm afraid it doesn't really work like that in the world my friend :)

No I'm saying that EA despite taking a huge amount of pre-orders and having had experienced with such a launch should have learnt from their mistake, and made sure they had the capacity to cope with the people connecting.

A flight being delayed due to circumstances out of the control of the airline is a completely different situation. If the flight was delayed by a significant amount of time due to the airlines own negligence then that'd be a different story.

Fact is, EA took a very strong single player game, and made it a requirement for you to be online at all times in order to use it. Then sold it to people saying they could play it on March 05. 80% of those people were not able to even get into the game for a good week later. This is significantly worse than a 10 minute delay to a flight. Especially considering it could have been avoided and about 50% of the players that are forced to use the servers bandwidth have 0 interest in actually playing multiplayer.

Most flights are delayed because of the airline's incompetence. A plane malfunction is considered out of their control but it really isn't.

I agree that EA games cocked up the launch and they showed incredible incompetence by doing so but to say they 'owed it' to all of us is a bit steep. Also by then complaining about the choice of games they offer for free is just a bit... ungrateful.

Yes I was exporting it but then the plant just quit running  :'(

Still not a single server error here. I have connected to one in Oceania.

the names of the servers do not imply where the server is... hence "Antarctica"

I've had similar. I had a fully upgraded plant and it just quit producing at some point. I had do demolish and rebuild it, after which it worked fine until a hurricane destroyed my nuke and made the map unplayable D:

In the "EA server world" this one was in Oceania.  ;)
