What is considered a violation of the dumping seats rule?

Hello,

My airport neighbor has started attacking all my routes, he's substantially bigger and he puts up to 300 seats on routes with demand of about 90 people or so. I read in the rules that seat dumping was not allowed, so i was wondering what exactly is seat dumping?

Thanks for the info

Brockster

I believe it is more than 200% of the route, so if he is dumping 300 seats on a 90 seat route then that would be considered seat dumping, I think.

And in the Beginner's World nonetheless.... There's no excuse for that there.

What if the airline oversupplies seats only in one of the days?  I have this problem with BSA, especially when he flies MNL-HKG on Sundays.

In those cases its probably more accidental due to the timing of the flight - i.e. he may have the departing flight leaving every day, but as they shift times throughout the week (i.e. if its a 28 hour route pattern), the return flights can bunch up on the same day unintentionally....

hybridace101

Not exactly, especially since the flight is short-haul.

Here is a good example.  This is in Modern Times #1.

My neighbor in BOG is supplying 1,382 seats/day on a route with demand of 260 seats/day:

Not necessarily.

You can't just look at a singular route and say that someone's being unfairly competitive.  It's possible, and actually quite likely particulary in someplace like Bogota where you run out of demand fairly quickly, that he's simply flying to that other airport to reposition his planes on routes from another airport.  Since the game presently requires all aircraft to depart from the headquarters, this is a very common occurence.  "Flooding" a route for the purpose of repositioning aircraft for further routing is explicitly allowed within the rules.

Yes, that (4-leg routes) is still a rule exception in v.1.11 games. In v.1.2 it's not allowed anymore..

So, if I have understood correctly. Imagine a route A-B-C-B-A . Imagine 500 daily pax demand from B-C and 50 pax deman from A-B. Are you allowed to fly 500 pax offer from A to B in order to can offer then from B to C even when you are offering 1000% in A to B???

An now, if I understood correctly and this is allowed... what happen if a guy is trying to be profitable flying from A to B with a small 40 seats prop?? As I say everyday... the game is not for small regional companies.  :)

And now... if you want to flood a route the only thing you need is to look for another pair with a higher pax deman.

How exactly are going to be things in next version?

In next version there are no A-B-C-B-A routes. So why would you like to flood a route?

For example, in this version you could flood a route Dubai-Abu Dhabi if you wanted to fly from Abu Dhabi and you were based in Dubai. In next version you can't continue onwards from Abu Dhabi, so there's no reason to fly the route with bigger planes.

so will only a-b routes be possible or can you open a hub in another city and start routes there?

mtnlion

Yes you will be able to start a second hub. Though there might be some rules concerning the second hub, such as the size of the airport(?).

do we have a date? It's just that I'm really looking forward to it - like all you guys I bet ;-)

sami the most I'd guess  ;-)

Since we cant do 4 leg routes, what about tech stops? Please tell me we get to keep those!
