VC10 and Tupolev-114 Flight Time

I have a question. :) The VC10 has a speed of 485 kts and the Tupolev-114 415 kts. When these two fly long hauls directly to the same airport, the flight for both takes exactly 8 hours and 0 minutes excluding turn-time. Is there an explanation as to why they both arrived at the same time despite the difference in speed? Thanks in advance.

I ran the following:

Sydney to Hong Kong: TU114 did it in 9h45m    the Vickers did it in 9h45m....  exactly the same.

There is something wrong here.

Nice... with that flight time, it puts the VC-10 to shame.

Need to ramp up production on the 114 line!!

Now.. is this a VC-10 bug report or a Tu-114... ponder that one for awhile.

Also may I add that Boeing 707/720 and DC-8 at Mach .80, Ilyushin Il-62 at 440kts and a few others appear to have the same flight time as the VC10 and Tupolev-114.

I'm looking at some short/medium and long range in Jet Age. There seems to be inconsistencies with some of these. Running route planning from Dubai to Kabul is 910 nm. I think it's far enough to see a little bit of difference. I haven't looked at the much slower aircrafts yet.

Here are some interesting numbers

Fokker F.27 ----- 227 kts >>>>> 4:40
HS 748 ----- 244 kts >>>> 4:05
Convair 240/340/440 ----- 250 kts >>>>> 4:40
NAMC YS-11 ---- 250 kts >>>>> 4:40
DC-6 ----- 270 kts >>>>> 4:10
Yak-40 ----- 270 kts >>>>> 3:00
Boeing 377 ----- 295 kts >>>>> 3:25

Vickers Viscount 700/800 ----- 285/310 kts respectively >>>>> 4:10 Interestingly, the 700 and 800 are grouped as one in route planning even though they have different speeds.
Bristol Britannia ----- 330 kts >>>>> 3:25
DC-7 -----330 kts >>>>> 3:25
Lockheed L-188 ----- 330 kts >>>>> 3:25
Ilyushin Il-18 -----350 kts >>>>> 3:25

Tupolev-114 ----- 415 kts >>>>> 2:45
Sud Aviation Caravelle 10B ----- 420 kts >>>>> 2:45
Tupolev 124 ----- 430 kts >>>>> 2:50
Fokker F.28 ----- 435 kts >>>>> 3:00
BAC One-Eleven ----- 440 kts >>>>> 2:55
Ilyushin Il-62 ----- 440 kts >>>>> 2:45
Tupolev 134 ----- 450 kts >>>>> 2:50
Convair 880/990 ----- 469 kts >>>>> 2:45

Boeing 737 100/200----- Mach .72 >>>>> 2:55
DC 9-10 ----- Mach .76 >>>>> 2:45
Boeing 707/720 ----- Mach .80 >>>>> 2:45
DC 8 ----- Mach .80 >>>>> 2:45
VC10 ----- Mach .80 >>>>> 2:45
Boeing 727-100 Mach .81 >>>>> 2:40
HS121 Trident 1C Mach .81 >>>>> 2:40

The performance figures for old planes in db are a bit unreliable as there was no proper data in the format needed. However if I have time, the performance system will be recoded in next version as there are few other minor speed bugs there too (and 8 need to make it better manageable).
