Even in the novice beginners world I still suck.. all my flights are making money yet I'm still losing money.. I guess I cant play this game very well.. which I've known all along. I am getting beyond frustrated... maybe once all my credits are gone this time I will just have to walk away.. I love this game but I guess I know that I'm not cut out to run an airline.. *sigh*.. sorry for the rant...

I really wish that I could log into your airlines.  This game should not be that hard at all...

give me some screenshots (income statement weekly; fleet commonality; aircraft (overview); routes sort by profit;)

maybe I can give you advice!! hope you read the topics from above this forum!?!? (meaning the newbs threat)
if you don't want to post to public: send me a PM!!

with my admin powers I looked up what's with your airline .. here goes:

Your fleet commonality will soon kill you, unless you make smart moves. You got now 757 and F28, and soon getting B727 and another F28. That's 5 planes and 3 plane types.. NOT smart. And also with small airlines that only have like 2-3 planes it's hard to make a decent profit. With a larger fleet of 5+ your company will be a bit bigger and things get easier.

Schedules are nice and packed well, fleet utilization is good.

You have some routes with 7day avg LF over 95%. Increase prices on those! Overall LF average of about 80% is acceptable so keep driving the prices up until you hit that LF area, or def-prices +5% mark (don't overprice too much).

You got Y and F class seats on domestic sectors. Better focus on Y and C. F class is mainly on longhauls, but is to some extent also on domestic sectors so getting the 10 F class pax is really good income too. But just make sure you are not flying these F seats empty. At the moment the F class income is very good though!!

Make sure you fly to each destination 7x week. Now your routes seem to be collections of many destinations and only a few times a week. It doesn't matter yet when there is little competition but better to start off by giving 7x week frequency to each new destination.

Your marketing spendings are quite big. I would personally perhaps focus more on general campaigns and ease with the route campaigns (and just suffer the slower gain of route image which in turn makes the route pax amounts raise slower but this can save much $$). Marketing and fuel aree your two biggest expenses.. Better cut back on the ads. As on week 28 you were only 80k in red and marketing expenses were nearly 300k, so put the marketing money closer to 100k/week.. As there is little competition so far the image is not that important yet.

Is flying 7x a week really that important?  I have a decent number of routes that are only 6x... what is the harm?

swiftus27

Route image increases less if you don't fly at least 7 trips per week to the city.

Sami

6x or 7x, not that big difference. But more frequencies => better "points" for the calculation so to say.

MattDell

One followup to that... would 1 flight a day 7x a week be better than 2 flights a day 6x a week?

swiftus27

Sami

2x 6xweek = 12 frequencies.
1x 7xweek = 7 frequencies.

MattDell

Ah, I see... it goes by frequency, then, not number of days a week you fly.  Interesting...
