I'm flying from adelaide to albury which is 417nm. my flight has a range of 320nm and so I have to refuel at Mildura. Mildura to albury is 176nm so why am i getting this prompt?

Did you assign refuel stop at Mildura in both directions? Assigning technical stop in outbound flight does not do it automatically for inbound flight, you need to do it manually, too.
