So this is not my first time playing and enjoying this airline simulation game as i like management sims and real world statistics, however Ive always hoped to see this in app form - are there any plans for the future to get an app for Android or Apple released for AirwaySim?

:)

Voted no for a very simple reason: an app will not bring the capabilities of a full PC for features in the game while developing and maintaining it will consume resources better used to improve gameplay. Typed on my mobile ;)

100% agree Dani - this solves NOTHING

If this reply was made.by Sammi, I would understand but I dont see how it wouldnt be a bonus as it would work just as well and also invite more players and interest into the game which would create more profits for Sammi and all his hard work... What cannot be done in an app when this is just a text based management sim?
It solves nothing to not make sense with reasoning as you stated something about capabilities of a pc?

However I appreciate the reply from members who have over 2000+ posts... and seem to be moderators.or.administrators rather than just players :) would be nice to hear from other PLAYERS also... :)

Work is in progress on making it more mobile friendly:

"For you dear users the update will be visible as a new and updated website, and with a more mobile-compatible layout. Doesn't sound much, but it's a major effort actually ;) The new framework/website will be fully compatible with small cellphone screens, but moving the entire game interface to this system will take time, and the update will be processed in smaller increments"

You have a hard mouth for someone who signed up less than 3 hours before making this post.... Bet you are still on the free trial too...

I'm no tech guy but I agree with DanDan and Cornish above. Mobile is usable and as Mike said, Sami is working on making it more mobile friendly.

I actually think an app is necessary. Most older users will disagree, but many people have moved most of their electronics/ internet use to mobile platforms and if this game does not follow suite, it will slowly diminish in popularity. While I can imagine the strong core of players this game has will keep the game active for some time, there is a limit to this and the longterm future of this game would depend on mobile users.

I still think that few features, and QOL changes are very important, but the I think its important to keep attracting new players and a mobile app would actually be huge for that purpose.

Even if that app was just a login that then directed you to your browsers more mobile friendly AWS of the future, I think that would be a good direction.

Everybody here is a player except SAMI. We're all just very involved (read: addicted) and love helping others out, hence the high numbers of posts for many members.

As for an app. Well, I can't see it being any use.  As a new player you won't yet have discovered that to play at any serious level it's almost essential to have many browser tabs open (5 or 10 for sure and I sometimes have 40 or 50!). Also, with the amount of text, displaying everything clearly on a phone screen is very difficult with lots of zooming and scrolling needed, whether it be in app or browser.  I think these are the two main stumbling blocks that make an app. not worthwhile. I don't say 'never', but I can't see me ever playing on a phone, or even tablet, even if a really good app. WERE available.

shame we can't hear from people who aren't players, ie the millions who could play this but don't. Either because they've tried and left, or just are oblivious to it's existence. I'd vote for more marketing on all aviation outlets. How many pilots were laid up during the pandemic who always know they can run the airline better than the back office people? They'd have been AWS fanatics if they'd known about it.. lots of people out there to reach out to...

the game is also a tycoon/MBA running a businss game really, with an aviation veneer slapped on top. The best players are those that run their airline like a hard nosed business rather than a ragtag of fun planes. Marketing I'd be going after the education sector where students at school/college/uni can put their business acumen to the test. I know this happens a bit already..

just a quickie about platforms - I play on a Windows 10 laptop as I prefer a keyboard and mouse. But I think Windows is clunky so will likely replace this with a laptop size Chromebook when it dies. Hope I've not just jinxed my laptop saying this out loud!

I do have 2800 posts or such, but i guess 3 out of 4 are communications with players regarding aircraft purchases... not an admin certainly!

an app sounds nice of course, and very 21st century and yes, i agree with the jist of it: lots of players are scared out of the game by a lot of things, but in my opinion it would be something rather low on the priority list.

no use in putting a half-baked app of a game that is "under construction" in the appstore to get players that have never seen the PC interface to rate the game negatively because they didnt have the patience to understand it in the first place.
