Bankruptcy Report - type of Aircraft

When an airline goes out of business, we get a message announcing the name of the airline and a list of hub airports.  Is it possible to also list the type (and possibly the number) of aircraft operated by the defunct carrier?  Or can the airline listing remain active for a short time so that other players can view the defunct carriers information?

The hub listing gives other carriers information about where competition might be reasonable.  A list of the defunct carriers' aircraft type(s) might assist in determining reasonable future competition for new and used aircraft - especially when a major player with hundreds of aircraft goes belly up.

I didn't know how much I wanted something until I heard about it.

Problem is, those aircraft don't flood the UM, they sit in the desert while the stingy AI brokers watch them rot, occasionally listing one or two here and there.

But at least we might see how or why our new aircraft purchase gets moved up or down the list.  It would also help determine competition for the long-term availability of future used/new aircraft knowing that a big user is no longer in the game.

Since on the topic about the bankruptcy report. I would love to see when the airline that went bankrupt was founded.

maybe also the players name of the bk'd airline!?

it would be cool in the subject line of the bankruptcy notice to have the total number of planes operated by the airline in brackets , eg

SimonAir (34) bankupted today

Same for all the statistics pages.

I'd find it useful as I could quickly spot the big failures as opposed to those with 2 or 3 planes that likely won't create route opportunities. On the stats pages it would show which big airlines are in trouble as I go to the last page for profitability, CI, company value etc.

Is that the reason you put your username in your airlines' names? ;D

The current program has a way for a player to look up information on an existing airline.  However, once an airline goes out of business, the airline's listing is deleted.

All of the suggestions in this thread could be met if the bankrupt airlines' listing remained visible say - for one week (game time), and the airline was noted as bankrupt or out of business as of the bankruptcy declaration so as not to be confused if a player starts a new airline with the same name.

Karl

As more and more airlines bankrupt - some with several hundred aircraft, I would still ask that either the message announcing the bankruptcy list the aircraft types that the airline used or give remaining players access to the bankrupt airline's profile for a week or so after the bankruptcy.
