L1011 Conversions/Upgrades

So, much like the DC8, there were a number of L1011 upgrades that were made available to bring it up to par with the DC10's performance. I suggest adding these L1011 variants as conversions from existing models. It appears there's a -50, -150 and -250, with the -250 being the most significant.

Actual specs sourced: Probably somewhere out there.

The next round of aircraft will probably more modern Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Since the player base would like a 1980s start... I feel like we need the get those two companies going.

The Combi and freighter models of the following:
707
732
747
757
767
777
737 NG
A300
A310
A320
A333
A340?

Is what I had in mind over the coming days...

Well, the L1011 upgrade is quite relevant to both GW1 and GW2 right now an would be a significant enhancement to the game play. The rest have a while before they'll actually be n eeded in any running game world.

I don't doubt the relevance of those variants for the L1011. However, you'll have to convince Sami to drop all these aircraft into running full GWs. In a mini GW challenge with < 100-ish players, its probably doable. But dropping 25+ new aircraft into a full GW with 100s of players would be a tinder box just waiting to explode. Considering the uproar from GW1, this is something probably better to avoid.

The stark reality is, until every fleet/aircraft model gets there freighter and combi (along with any other variants that were skipped over) in the game, each GW from the next few months will be missing models here and there. Some fleet types will be better options simply because of there full and/or not full aircraft trees.

Case in point: 707 vs DC8. As it stands in GW1, the 707 is basically screwed because it has no freighter model or Combi (707C is not modeled correctly). While the DC8 has its full tree with all combi/freighter models including the super 70s to take it all the way to the 21st century.

I understand where your point of view is coming from, however, the reality and time constraints of processing this data is.. simply put: Cruel.

Maybe not the 707, but surely if the others don't exist yet they can be rolled into GW1?

That's a question for Master Sami to only answer  :P

So I heard an Owl last night hooting... figured that must be a sign. Did some digging around this morning prepping for my next round of aircraft (#757herewecome), and found some incomplete docs on specs.

The -50 and -150 don't bring too much to the table. Nothing a -200 would eventually take care of.. but I supposed the ability to carry more cargo is a plus. That said, the -250 is something we do need to add at some point. It does the line justice.

Take a look at this doc from the boys at Delta: http://www.deltamuseum.org/docs/site/aircraft-pages/delta_lockheed_l-1011_fleet_list_2013-12-10.pdf?sfvrsn=2

Seems Delta was the only airline to fly the -250 after conversion. Which didn't happened till 1986. Which kinda sucks, I thought it might've come earlier.

Anywho, I can see the -150 and -250 being added. Maybeee not in this round of aircraft (there weren't alot of L1011Fs) but I'll complete the L1011 line next round.

I'd love to see them in GW1, that's for sure.

Are you going to add the super 727? with winglets, and upgraded engines?

The 727-200AF (Super 27) is already in the game and should be available as a conversion starting in the mid 1980s.

Seconded, would love to see these added, and indeed more so than any of the variants Talentz listed as likely being next on the agenda

Is there a Conversion data base per airframe and/or release date data base? I know the new aircraft release dates shift around per game but the conversion availability should be a set date correct? Id like to solidify the "should be's" into "are available"  ;D
