Airline bankruptcies and airplane availability

Hi guys,

I am pretty new to the game and absolutely fascinated. One question in regard to the airlines that are currently obviously in bankruptcy proceedings in the game: Are those planes going to show up on the used aircraft market anytime, or do they sit on them?

Thanks for your help, having some trouble figuring out my expansion plans...

Behind the scenes in the used market is something Sami refers to as the "pool", this is a very large collection of aircraft not being used by airlines. Every game day the game automatically chooses a number of these aircraft to appear on the used market. That's how the AI brokers work.
When an airline goes Bankrupt, it's aircraft are seized by the game (unless its leased from a human player) and placed in the pool. So yes, the aircraft should appear in the used market, but not instantly. However if an airline with (for example) 100 A320s goes bankrupt, the chance of A320s appearing on the used market is significantly increased.

I hope that makes sense.

Great, thanks for your quick reply!

It seems some A/cs with age less than 5 years would enter the pool.  When those A/cs show in the used A/c market, what will be the age of those A/cs?  Will it reflect the actual age (ex. 2.3 years) or the system will adjust the age to over 5 years.

Actually when you now said that I discovered a small fault in the system, as currently it only allows over 5yr planes to appear on the used list. Thus an airline with new planes (like 2yr old ones) goes bust, the planes take forever to appear there (= until they are at least 5y) .. Have to adjust that.

But aircraft production dates/ages are never adjusted once the plane is initially produced.
