Network Effect - Short haul flights

My HQ base is at Luton in the UK, and after maxing out a lot of the capacity there I've opened a medium base in Milan.  Should I be anticipating a network effect, ie increased passenger demand from Luton to Milan so that a connection can be made to the destinations I'm setting up from Milan (ie Luton to Milan to Palermo)? Or is this game not as dynamic as that?
