Introducing Me!

Hi There,

My name is Jamie, I am new to this game and have been playing for about 5 days.

Just wanted to introduce myself, and my airline, which is called TransAir. You will see me in Game World 3!

Does anybody have any tips on making a successful airline? On the free trial world I got too big too soon and ran up millions in debt. In this new world I have 2 ATR 72-200's and 3 Embraer 120 Brasilia's which are serving parts of the UK, France & Germany, but I am struggling to open up more routes as they are already done by other airlines. Can I open up the same route and directly compete with them? Is that wise considering how new my airline is?

Also, how do I increase the load factor (without spending money on marketing) and route image? And does the type of aircraft directly affect your passenger count? (say if I ran a CRJ700 instead of my ATR's would customers prefer that etc?)

Hello Jamie, have you read the FAQ and the manual carefully?

Route Image will increase automatically if you fly a route. Aircraft type itself doesn't really affect passengers.

Hi, I did look, but as an amateur some of the expressions and explanations confused me a little bit so I just wanted to confirm. Thanks for your help! I saw your King Air livery on another forum thread and it looks great! I'm no good with photoshop, is there an easy way of making one?

There is a seperate thread for "LOGO AND LIVERY" where you can request such things be made to your custom wishes (a/c model, what colors, symbols, etc.) just ask in the friendly, and usually within 2-3 real days you will have a livery posted there by someone (check back regularly, in case someone has any questions about the design you want).

Hiya Jamie from another fairly new player, just a little word of advice, you will go bankrupt loads of times until you get used to things here. I have gone bankrupt so many times I've lost count, just keep on going. This time I am actually making a profit, first time ever, touch wood it carries on.

So far, with my second attempt I am just about breaking even. Managed to buy a couple of new regional jets although I didn't realise if you have lots of similar aircraft it reduces maintenance costs. Going to be considering that when I make my next purchase tomorrow!
