Dedicated Maintenance A/C

Would it be possible to program the ability to dedicate a/c to automatically fill in for B,C, & D checks?  In other words, you would buy/lease an a/c that could handle the distance, runway, and availability requirements for your fleet.  You would designate this a/c to maintenance duty.  Maybe a good use for an older owned a/c because it wouldn't cost monthly payments and it wouldn't necessarily be flying as much as a normal scheduled a/c.  Obviously, if you have quite a few a/c you would need more than one.  If seasonal routes are introduced you could schedule the "dead" months for maintenance.

I think it is a great idea and was just (once again) thinking about it looking at all those aircraft I have in maintenance. Not the first time this was discussed though so search the forum for more info.
