Tablet (iPad etc) usability feedback

As you know one of the targets of the layout upgrade was to make the interface fully compatible and usable with tablet devices like iPad. Since you of course need to manage your airline on the go too....

I'd like to hear now your feedback on how the new layout is working for you, and what can be improved for mobile browsers.

swiftus27

Interface works fine if you can work on one screen.   No way around lack of mouse when you need to do a fleet conversion.

Funny how the iOS range graph seems to work better than the one on pc

Working great for me! Runs very fast and has a nice layout providing easy access to everything.  It is difficult to make major changes to the airline, but like swiftus said there really isn't a way around that because of the nature of the device.  It works great for making small changes and monitoring progress.

I have an android tablet and hate using it for aws.  For the record, I hate using it on most websites.  AWS is mouse intensive and not having one is a killer.

It is somewhat usable at this point on Chrome for Android. There's still bugs that I need to get around to reporting though...

I'm using Chrome on a 5" screen Xperia Z and it works fine for basic gaming. The menu does not show up correctly as you tap once and it appears to only disappear a fraction of a second after, so you have to tap again and then it stays. Otherwise it is pretty good.

I've got the iPad in the game works great.

Teemu

slow and same issues that reported earlier with chrome. Wp 7.8

slannoy

On iPad no big problem but on iPhone the navigability is an issue. It's not easy to target the correct link on the menu as they are too small (or maybe because I have too big fingers...)

Minto Typhoon

Alas, no private message warning on top right like on the full version...

With Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 everything works just fine, but must admit that "the pen" helps a lot in this case.

I use a google nexus and all seems fine except when I click on the top menus, they scroll down and immediately back up again. So if I need to go to say Office - Income Statement I need to click twice on Office, after the second click the Office menu stays open, and then select Income Statement.

Apart from that, all good.

I think it's working great from an iPad, which I'm using 98% of time I'm playing now.  As noted above, you do come across as 'rude' if someone PMs you because you can't see it unless you go to forum and purposely look.  The only other bothersome thing is the layout when it's time to increase salaries.  There's a big jumble of fields on the left...the increase salary, adjust staff buttons overlap/all mix together when you get the notice to raise salaries.  It's easy enough as you jut scroll down next to the salary box and click the $ icon.  Not sure if that's fixable.

But overall it's a massive improvement and from my perspective as functional as playing from a computer used to be for me at least.

An issue with the iPad is seen here where your unable to set the time for scheduled maintenance:
A "close window" button could easily solve this issue.

I have some problems when i play with more than one windows open at the same time. When i want to check the other window its automatic reload the page, which result in "Error: Constantly reloading this page is not allowed."
Than i cant play more for another 10minutes. :(

When i play on my desktop computer this is never an problem..

Playing on an Ipad, using Safari.

I have an iPad 2 and when in route planning, when I select a number of destinations in another tab and I go back to the selection page, it reloads and you have to start all over again. Same when managing routes, you open a number of them in other tabs (not the same amunt as I'd do in my PC, though), the manage route page resets and you have to configure it again.

iPad's use is mainly for housekeeping kind of work when in AWS. Selecting a new fuel provider/hedge, see if you can spot an acft in the UM, and check the forum. Every other thing appears quite difficult and time consuming. Definitely better than with the previous version nevertheless.

The ipad reloading thing is a browser bug, I see it frequently outside aws..

OK, then I have no complaints!
