fleet commonality cost???

Mr.HP

Hi,

I made the worst mistake by leasing a Saab and a B734 for the first two A/C. The fleet commonality cost was huge, but stood at around 300k/month for both of them. Don't wanna restart again, so I just bite the bullet and bare with that

Now I've made a fleet of 4 Saab and 1 B734, how come the cost for B734 jump to 370k/month? Isn't it suppose to be insensitive to company's growth?

Cost of engines maintenance still at around 100k for the B734

Can anyone advise/explain me about this?

Thanks

Sanabas

Probably it's just the plane is a bit older, so those maintenance costs are a bit higher. Plus having it increase because of inflation.

maint costs do increase with aircraft age : if you check the grey print under the mx cost guide on the new aircraft details page it says

'Maintenance costs are for 0.0y/100% plane in the cheapest config.'

The overall penalty increases as you add more aircraft/type to your fleet. Costs increase naturally.

However, the general rule of thumb is: as you add more of one type of aircraft, the per cost of that aircraft type decreases. So its best to "rapid expand" and get over the commonality hump as soon as you can. Your Saabs should start to have a better per aircraft cost by now.

Add a couple of more the 737 family and you'll start to see the same results as with your Saab aircraft.
