Do any of you know how to get our made liveries onto aircraft? I can only make the design, can't shape it to a plane like some of you have done already...if you can help me out...that would be great!

Here is an example of what im talking about.http://www.aviation-design.net/?id=11148

Here is my Livery:

Click on the (?) icon in airline settings (where you upload the livery) and there you find a couple of templates ready for painting.

I don't get it. I'm frustrating myself soo much >:(. How do you make a livery! The template things in the ? mark next to the airplane livery doesn't help at all. All it shows is a picture with with an A-330 on it. That's it, I can't do anything with that picture. And then using Microsoft Paint is a complete disaster as it looks like a 3 year old made it. I really need help!!

Basic steps i used in making livery (and an excuse to show off)  ;D
others probably have different steps and stuff to make things look better.

Very important to keep saving your stuff after each step, or when you're happy with something, even a little bit around the engine, SAVE, I surprise myself how much i screwed up.

1. get the template Sami mentioned or if you want specific planes and found some (search the forum there's been a few posts with links to where you can get them)

pictures of aircraft with blank white also work

2. find/create the logo you want, make sure they are medium sized picture or at least larger than what you want them compared to the plane in template.

3. using photoshop or gimp open create a new file with dimension 800x230 pixel copy and past the template into one layer and the livery/logo onto another (you'll probably need to rescale the aircraft to get it to fit, if you got the template from else where)

4. set the logo layer to multiply (I used photoshop, had use gimp a bit i think it has equivalent) and rescale it to how you want it on your plane. get the erasor tool and erase the excess off the logo layer, start from the edges keep zooming in and erasing closer to the airplane until done.

using the above and then adding text and stuff

my good friend Google tells me gimp have multiply tooo not sure where it is but if you play around a bit I'm sure it'll work out for you.

Frogiton

do you have Photoshop or gimp?

in gimp open a new file 800x230 and drag in your 2 images arrange the livery to be on the top layer, at the top of the layers change the mode to multiply.

Frogiton

No the one that I have is not gimp, it's Microsoft Photo Shop.

i'm confused, ydo ou mean MS paint? or adobe photoshop? as far as i know there isn't a photoshop made by microsoft, unless its a photo editing software in that case I have no idea.

Frogiton

I found this software on my computer that looks like adobe photoshop but is Micro$oft photoshop. But I have M$ Paint too.

Echoco

hmmm interesting, well in adobe photoshop you zoom using a scroll bar under the mini picture on the top left.

create a new file 800x230 and I think you could just drag your logo and template into the files and it'll be in its own layer.

play around you'll quickly learn its features, if its not up to the task download gimp.

Frogiton

OK Thanks, I'll see what I can do.

Echoco

have fun and show use your work.
