What's the difference? I see some in that format and but the departure time is the same in all 7 days.

The latter is used when scheduling an aircraft in a 7 day rotation. Some people (who have wwwaaayyyy too much time on their hands) schedule all their planes in roations, but normally it is used to squeeze every last minute of flying out of long haul planes.

It looks fancy, but in the end is a mess when you go through your "Manage routes" screen... If you fly from Europe to North America or even from Middle East to North America, you don't really need such a scheduling template. Three a/c will cover one North American route and the European one with about 4,5hrs per day left of empty schedule, all daily frequencies. The third a/c will have enough time left to fly to the Far East 5 or 6 time per week... And you'll have only 6 line of routes!

I tend to do that but only to get full use out of long haul aircraft.

Although I'm too lazy to do the one flight thing so I tend to go for 1-3-5-- and 2-4-6 and then find a Sunday flight wherever I can in a planes schedule.

This is something where alot of work could be done. To me its unrealistic that schedules and routenumbers are connected to an aircraft the way they are today. We should be working with some kind of "grid" system instead where routes can be shared by 7 ( in the same fleetgroup)or more planes. Or at least be able to group routes and give them one # if they depart at the same time but different days.

Im sure this is something Sami is aware of and have been discussed a million times before though.

It's useful for all routes and all aircraft, except slot hogging aircraft (yeah, I know, officially this is forbidden and noooobooody would ever use such a thing).

And the main advantage for all aircraft isn't the one or two flights more a week, it's the thing you always fly every day and don't miss a day because of A-Check time.


But I still can understand why people are sometimes too lazy for this. Copying 31 routes on 6 aircraft consumes much time (but you can fill it with a good movie) and is very boring and bad for your hand.

LOL.  You should have seen my ATL route screen in MT3, with some 700 aircraft on 7 day schedule...  I think I crashed AWS when I was trying to sort the routes on Route Management page...
