Cargo Load Charts

Does anyone else have trouble understanding the cargo load factor charts?

Can something be done in future updates to simplify the cargo load factor charts?

could you be a bit more specific? There are cargo charts, but they don't show load factor.

There are charts on the route view page that show load factor for pax and cargo, all 6 or so categories, do you mean these?

I suspect your question relates to CBD, City Based Demand, which is a bit complicated but well documented in the manual,

I mean the bar chart on the route page.

The passenger chart is a nice round pie which clearly shows the percentage of pax each airline had achieved.

There is a bar chart for cargo which by using different colors seems to shou how much cargo can be carried and the percentages of the various types of cargo on the same chart.

I just find it hard using the bar graph to determine how much projected cargo space of each type is filled or available.

To understand the bar chart you need to understand City Based Demand, CBD. I would recommend starting here,

It's not compplicated. Passengers go from airport to airport, so for example KJFK-KLAX and you can look at demand and supply and see whether to add a flight.

CBD operates for cargo and operates on an area, such as New York. new York has probably 10 airports, 3 big one 7 little ones. Ditto Los Angeles, 1 big one 9 little ones. Cargo that needs to go from NY to LA (potential demand) could use any combination of these 10 NY -> 10 LA airports. Which specific route pair gets what % of the cargo depends on many things. So the pax and cargo charts are the same, except for the left hand column which is POTENTIAL DEMAND. So that shows the total possible demand for that airport.
