Hey guys,

This is my first post. Thank you guys for such a good game.

I like this Airwaysim very much and would really love to understand how airways opreates in realife compare to the game.
Is this game similar to the reality or not (which aspects)?
Would you guys describe your thoughts?

Thank you for your thoughts!

AirwaySim is not necessarily accurate to real life, but it is very in-depth.
One of the biggest examples I can remember off the top of my head is that "fleet type costs" are artificially raised with every distinct fleet type you operate. This basically caps the number of distinct fleet types you can operate at 3, especially after the 90s. This is to prevent large airlines from absolutely dominating every market segment, particularly short-haul, medium-haul, and long-haul.
Airlines in real life also try to reduce their number of fleet types, but not nearly to the extent that ASW imposes. Some airlines do only operate one or two fleet types, like Southwest, EasyJet, Ryanair, WestJet, and others, but they are all low-cost or budget airlines.

Fleet types, by the way, are basically just aircraft families. If you look at an aircraft or go to the new or used aircraft markets, you can see the different fleet types. For example, the 737MAX8 belongs to the 737NG/MAX fleet type.
