Aircraft Conversion Seat Config

What happens when an aircraft with a modified/non-default seat config gets converted to another model?
For example from Tu-154 to Tu-154A? Does it switch to the default seat config of the newer model, or does it retain the original seat config?

Default configuration, if I have not forgotten (can't remember it for sure at this moment).

The seat configuration is always specific to the model so the existing config does not convert directly.
