Support for Ukraine

Here at AirwaySim we wish to keep all politics and evil things away from the friendly community, but with the recent events in Ukraine the following statement will be issued:

It is shocking to see the latest blatant aggression and violation of international laws and treaties by Putin, Russia, and his cronies. They have escalated the violations against international peace step by step over the last years, and the latest actions of entering into an open war against another sovereign nation have been the final straw. The entire civilized western world has been strong and unified in their response, as we have seen some unprecedented and fast reactions to stop and sanction the Russian aggression, even from countries which have been neutral for 200+ years. The actions by the Russian forces, which are day by day more focused against innocent civilians, are outrageous and cannot be tolerated.

Our full moral support is for the Ukrainian nation and people. Slava Ukraini!

If you wish to show your support, the following article from the Kyiv Independent will give you 6 simple suggestions: https://kyivindependent.com/opinion/victor-tregubov-are-you-a-foreigner-who-wants-to-help-ukraine-heres-how/
Another potential source is UNICEF, here's the link for their UK branch but they operate worldwide: https://www.unicef.org.uk/donate/donate-now-to-protect-children-in-ukraine/

AirwaySim itself will not host any fundraisers here, but we urge you to consider the possibility for financial donations directly to their National Bank or other well-known organization, or actually helping the refugees if you live in a nearby country. The humanitarian crisis is just starting! Please contribute if you are able.

If you are reading this in Russia, my humble suggestion is: Please go to the streets like thousands in your country have already done, and oppose this idiotic war: Your countrymen, young boys in the military, are dying in their hundreds every day (latest reported toll is over 5000 casualties), and the innocent civilians in cities in Ukraine are being targeted – this must stop.

In AirwaySim we will not make any changes to our games or policies, and they will continue to run normally. We shall participate in the economic sanctions and decisions of the western world through our payment processor (as ruled by US & EU, e.g. by declining the credit cards of the sanctioned banks). Any questions about for example modelling such war events into the game can wait. We will not issue any bans or tricks against users from Russia, since that does not help in the actual real-life problem. And I have a strong belief that all users here are smart and civilized people, and we will be friends in the future too once this is over.
