airport circle map

hi, in DTM I've looked at EGLL (infra

and EGKK (infra 5) and it looks to me like the circle radius's are the same. Surely EGLL should be larger since it has much higher infra? I've taken the liberty of drawing EGLL in yellow so we can see it.

If you hover over the airport pin, it'll say what the catchment radius is. Can check if they're the same there.

kewl - never noticed that! Both say 147km, but ones infra5 and ones infra8, is it correct they're the same radius?

Give it some time since they grow slowly. But if the two airports Infra and Traffic levels are not the same, then the radius shouldn't be the same.

I've never seen one with a radius >163km, but the manual says it can go up to 200km. Airports have always seemed to be based off of traffic level alone...

HND in HaTF is indeed at 163km - while at 10/10 size.

LTBA in DTM has just expanded to infra5, if I click on it it says the radius is 184km, bigger than EGLL which is infra8 and says 163km. LTBA expanded 2 days ago EGLL 6 months or more ago. EGKK is infra 5 and says 163km.

It shows as 163 km in HaF.

BTW, the catchment depends only on Traffic level now - which may have changed, it may have taken infrastructure into account as well in the past.
