Whats the most profitable airline you have ever seen?

I'm just curious, whats the most profitable airlines you have every seen? If anyone knows, either by memory or has a screenshot of the highest quarterly income every achieved in this game, I would love to see it because I think there is a good chance this record can be smashed with cargo numbers in the current challenge world.

Thanks,

Around 45% margin, several times, though one was especially impressive as it was a massive airline, in a competitive environment (Turkey), in previous GW#2, Jetonski Fly.

I'm pretty sure the airlines in Speedy Recovery have to be setting all sorts of global records.  Somehow you went from being the #1 airline to the #2 airline and the top airline now is doing $37 billion in revenue with a 50% operating margin which is insane.  If the game world were longer there would likely be records for airline value also.

I personally like the settings on Speedy Recovery with no restrictions on bases--this allows more perfect competition as anyone can compete with anyone versus being restricted based on country.  This obviously would never happen in the real world, but in terms of playability I think it's awesome.  If it weren't for these settings it would be nearly impossible to build the airlines that exist as your airline is based at the largest cargo hubs that otherwise wouldn't be accessible by a single airline (Hong Kong AND Manchester).  Likewise for my own airline--it's difficult to fly to 500 airports under normal circumstances but without base restrictions I'm flying to 1149 airports which I assume is also a record.  There are 2838 airports in the game and I'd like to hit 50% at 1419, but I don't think that's going to be possible--maybe one day with city-based demand for pax :)

I think Speedy Recovery will be hard to beat in the future also when it comes to revenue etc. because the coronavirus event knocked out so many airlines that just never came back along with the short game world (not many new airlines with only 10 years left)--we're down to 160 airlines and competition in many places is sparse, especially on the cargo side.  Alternatively if anyone out there wants to join the game world, there is plenty of slots/aircraft on the used market where you could scale to 1000 aircraft in 10 years and give these big guys a run for their money :)

I flew 609 airports. Before cargo.

But of course it requires a lot of planning. And quite a few sacrifices. Fairchild metros are not really money makers, and I opened crazy (and money-losing) routes as Nice-Bobo Dioulasso with a tech stop in the algerian desert, or Edimburgh-Kangerlussuaq with a tech stop in Keflavik.

It's easier with the advent of cargo - as it opens far more long distance destinations. Still requires a lot of attention, especially when bases are limited. The EU is quite powerful for that, I had bases in 9 countries. France has access to a lot of african destinations, the UK is a big domestic market, as well as Sweden, (30 destinations from Visby, just with metros.....), Poland has nice neighbours, etc.... USA is not bad either. Other places are much harder to get the achievement...unless there are no limits.

The fact that it's possible to open bases everywhere, added with cargo, means the achievement is cheapened, compared to the good old time. Still not easy.

well, thanks to you buying my 757PF in the AG-game, and my fleet actually just being 16 Fokker 50 aircraft (in an airport that cant even handle 757s), my profit margin is at about 55% currently! but i guess that doesnt really count...

On a weekly bases, I had a LHR based airline several years back making $2.2 billion.

Is that total revenue or profit after tax?

For sure, the 'challenge' games might need to be considered differently from 'normal' ones as they remove a lot of the real world restrictions so are really in a class of their own - to the point of being totally unrealistic.  I remember the Cargo Challenge (about 12 months ago now?) and I'm sure I was clearing $1.5billion per week post-tax profit - just with a 10 year-old airline and the limit of about 700 out-of-base a/c. Given a few more years, all those extra aircraft and with time to fine tune and keep on top of the prices and I'm sure I could have trebled that at least.  4.5 Billion per week profit is actually rather silly.  Fun though!

That was profit, weekly revenue was around $5.5bn.
