Delays and Flight cancelations

Hi Folks,

Hi I have a fairly young leased 757 in 75% condition. It has all mandatory maintainence scheduled yet still I have noticed some frequent delays and flight cancelations. I checked to what was the cause and the answer was " technical, mechanical problem with aircraft.

I have given my mechanics more pay hoping this would help, but not thus far. furthermore, I always allow additional 45 mins on top of the minimum required for turnaround..

Are other players having this issue? or might this be something else?

Even with 100% condition, the plane can break down. I don't know if higher salary will change anything. Also, I usually have some 10% max probability of delay in destination, and then <1% at home airport, so I have different ta times for home and destination. It's not required, but helps if the plane arrives a bit late so it can depart on time for the next leg.

if the tech delays are causing problems then you need to do additional B/C checks to raise the a/c condition. paying mech's more does not help, makes them happier though..

But 75% is barely acceptable, for new airline with cash shortage at least, but don't let it fall lower than that.
