citys with more then one airport

hi i have started an airline at Kansai (RJBB) and am wondering dose it do any good to open routes to both airports in a city for example should i open routes to Tokyo Haneda (RJTT) and Tokyo Narita (RJAA) or will they interfear with each other?

Cardinal

No they will not compete with each other. Passenger demand does not shift between airports (yet). Cargo demand DOES shift so don't open cargo-only routes to both Haneda and Narita.

Passenger routes do not interfere with each other.

But...

Tokyo Haneda is a 99% domestic/regional airport in AWS, while Tokyo Narita is mostly international. From what I remember when I played in Japan not too long ago, the demand between Narita and other Japanese airports is very small (except maybe a few major airports), or even none for the smaller airports. But Haneda has an enormous domestic demand to other Japanese airports. (as you have probably noticed while looking at their demand)

Same thing for Itami and Kansai that serve the city of Osaka, but I remember Kansai has a decent amount of domestic demand too.

You are better off flying from Kansai to Haneda, but if there's unserved demand between Kansai and Narita, feel free to fly there too.

I'm a newbie, but...

Even with cargo demand shifting, might it make sense to run multiple cargo flights in the wee hours (0000-0459) to both and then put those cargo planes on other routes during the day for expense purposes?

You should totally forget about time of day for cargo flights. It makes absolutely no difference at all. So, fly to airports such as these by all means (I've found from the Cargo Challenge) that it does make sense sometimes), but it doesn't need to be done as a 'filler' as it would with a pax. route.
