Staff Payraise Rquests
« on: November 18, 2017, 05:45:42 PM »
Hello all, I am currently dealing with my staff requesting 16 percent payraise requests pretty much every other day. This is ridiculous. How do I deal with them without paying them more money? It actually has a significant impact on my income that keeps setting me back.

Do you have "automatically raise salaries" (Settings->Staff settings) turned on? Maybe you've been paying too little to your staff for a long while...

I do not, but I literally just raised their salary 16% two days ago. I am making cabin crew into millionaires.

Seems like you're in trouble.

Ignore these warnings and see how it turns out...

Manually managing salaries never saved a company. It pushed several to their doom, OTOH.

Manually managing hires/fire is less dangerous. Need changes only when planes in operation change, and that's plain clear. Mistakes are possible, but easy to correct, and not THAT dangerous. I don't do because the potential profit is ridiculously low, yet I'm not shocked by players who do. But manually managing salaries is a false "good idea".

I've been manually managing salaries for 2 game years out of necessity (lots of fleet changes, low cash). It's been going well so far. I put off payraises until their morale falls to 80 and then set the suggested salaries for all and they get happy with that for 1 year. Will switch back to automatic when I'm done with the changes I'm doing.

But auto-raise salaries has it's drawback, too. I read about another player reporting that after 20 years into the game its staff was receiving way above the suggested salaries, and that's true. This was happening in my airline in GW2 after 8 years into the game. That's when I switched to manual.

I manage salaries and hiring manually.

Hasn’t failed me yet.

Next time just do anything with the salaries. Set them automatically on and you will see they will be 100% happy just because you keep opening routes. If you dare to raise a salary one time, you will be in a trouble till the end of the game.
