Delta 747
« on: September 05, 2017, 10:55:58 AM »
I was lucky enough to grab a seat tonight on Delta's last domestic 747 flight. DL1352 departs LAX 2310, arrives DTW+1 0626. Should be a memorable moment. I'll snag a few pics to share. United operated their last domestic 747 flight about a month ago but they only gave a couple days notice on it. They had a 747 in ORD after a charter and were gonna ferry to SFO but decided to sell it instead.

I'll be on that flight as well. Just got to LAX, heading to In-N-out Burger for some plane watching, quick nap then back to the airport.

A guy waiting at the gate who had no clue about what was going on asked me if they were celebrating someone's birthday.

One of my biggest regrets as an aviation enthusiast is that I've never had a chance to fly on The Queen. In all my 45 years I've only ever flown on two widebodies: a UA DC-10 in 1982 and a DL 767 in 2005.

Would love to have flown on a DC10. I got the luck to fly the 747 twice with KLM, the only other widebody for me was the A300, when the type was popular among Turkish charter companies... Never got the chance to fly the DC10 (before my time) and MD11  :-\
