New Base

I recently started an Airline on a beginner's world. My HQ is Paris Orly. I have around 20 planes and its getting harder and harder to find routes with enough demand, so I thought maybe this is the moment to open a New base on a New airport. But I don't know if my airline can handle that financial. And if its possible, what is a good airport for me to start a base?

On the new base opening screen, there is an estimates for how much it cost to run a new base after you selected those parameters. Compare the figure to your current profit and then you could judge that.
Generally speaking, for a small or medium base, as long as you have some amount of aircraft operating in reasonable profit out of it, then it should be able to be roughly self sustainable. A large or very large base would cost more so you might want to see how your base run before upgrading to those.
For base selection, as a French-based airlines, you can choose to setup new base in French proper, or oversea territories until their independence, or in EU from its creation. Generally you should consider the amount of unfill route, competitors, as well as slot availability before establishing the base, just like when you create your first base. You will not be able to see top unfilled routes in the base creation procedure, but you can use the route planning tool to check how many demand and how much are they filled out of prospective second bases.
While not an important factor in Beginner game world, but if you wish to open a base in territory or other different places then you should be aware of did they break up from your home country, or form breakaway country, or stop being part of the same union, as when that happen your base will be forced to be closed and all the aircraft flying in the base would return to your HQ with no place to fly.

Beaware that there is a huge difference in costs between medium and large bases. If you go large, try to find a base where you can land dozens of large aircraft. In France, there are not that many(but maybe it's past 1996 and you can open in all Europe?). If not, stick to medium sized airplanes(E175s, J928s, A148s, CRJs, Q400s, that kind of things) and open a level 2 base.

Thx for answering,

Yes its 2017 so I Can open bases in all Europe and I'm quite sure I Can handle it financialy, so I think I will open a base at an airport
like Oslo, Vienna or something like that.

First, check opposition. If local companies own more than 50% of traffick, flee(unless they are about to die). If they are under 30%, jump.

Oh, Good to know!
My Airline isn't 180 days old yet, but tomorrow morning I will Choose a base with Good opposition.

Well I would personally say 20 aircraft at Orly being your HQ doesn't sound like enough, there must be plenty more juicy lines about.

When opening I always:
1. Plan what size aircraft I will be using at that airport in the next 2-3 years and then open according to that size.7
2. Minimum 10 aircraft per base when they are 3/4 can be less with smaller one's.
3. Scout opposition, find plenty of demand that is free and a competitor who doesn't have too much of stranglehold on it. See how many aircraft they have, what they have coming on order and take all this into account with market share. Someone with 50% market share and only 20 aircraft is still quite easy to overtake.

My free trial is ending in four days, so there isn't many time left to plan stuf :)

And I think I'm going to start with a size 2 base, so I have Some money left after leasing New planes and opening the base.
I wont Choose a very challenging airfield, cause I only want to get Some experience with having a base before I'm going to play on the real world.

I have no idea what planea you are flying out of Orly, but i eas there once with over 85 A319's so in my opinion there shouldn't be any need at all to open a 2nd base when you only have 20 ac's at Orly...

That said, Vienna usually makes for a good 2nd base when there is less than 2 airlines there ;)
