Aircraft configuration - does it give you edge over competitors?

Hey,

If i upgrade my aircrafts to preimum economy/business class seats instead of factory default. Will it give me edge over competitors on same route and type of aircraft? or is it just waste of money... I have not configured any aircrafts manually other then introducing some business class seats on medium range aircrafts. But if ATRs can sell on economy premium over ERJ with high density economy I would like to explore it.

How are game parameters for this?

Premium allows you to marginally increase prices before LF falls down. Only situation where I might consider them is when I'm beyond range. A 2100NM line with 50 demand done by a MRJ(1960 of range), for example. But it's absolutely marginal, and usually don't waste my time with it.
