Is this game fair???
« on: July 28, 2017, 10:53:30 AM »
Hi,

I have another problem playing the game...

Before I went to sleep I saw somebody opened new routes in the same places as me so my finances went a little bit down - ok, I understand. I leased new aircraft and opened 2 extra routes, but I didn't hire more staff yet (I don't want to be charged if the routes are opened but the aircraft not delivered yet). I wanted to do it next morning.

But now I  logged in and my image went from 60% to 27% and just because of little lack of staff (I opened only 2 new routes so this lack was no more than 3-4% and not in every department). Is it fair??? I don't understand why so huge difference?! Because of so small thing... And now, the game finishes in 2 weeks and I will never get to 60% back - even if I put every flight for 10 dollars per person...

 :( :( :(

Always best to let staffing set to automatic. Any shortage of staffing or adjusting of staff salaries causes huge problems to the company image. I once reset my salaries to default in the middle of the game and had a drastic drop in my company image. The quickest way to bring back your company image is increase your staff salaries and staff loading. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your advise! ;-)

Honestly, I never saw that the increase of the salary increases your company image... But if you cut a salary just by 10 dollars then your image goes down immediately.  >:(

If you have cut the salaries, or had too few staff, , then like in the real world, the only way to make the staff happy is to give them more money. More money=happier staff=higher company image.  If you company image is pretty high already, the salary does not have a large amount of influence. I learned all of this the hard way experimenting.

Well, the problem with the salaries I learned to sort out by my own experience too. I wanted them happy so I gave them more and more money (so that at some moment my crew earned more than pilots...  :o ) and when I cut them because of financial problems, they were very angry and the image went very low minus something... But still, their expectations about the salaries could be more realistic because they ask to ear money you would never get in real live (for example the cabin crew)!

A lot of people strongly advise not messing with staffing and salaries as this area of the game seems a bit touchy if things are off.  Also, while this game tries to simulate real life, it is best to remember that it is a simulation, and not real life.  Always play to the simulation, and not what you think would work in real life.

ALWAYS keep staff and salaries on automatic. ;)

Especially when you are expanding your airline!
