flying time calculation
« on: May 17, 2017, 11:38:59 AM »
I created a route for a 424knot 737 that covered 339 nm and each leg was 1hr 40min flying time!

How does the flying time get calculated, I'd have expected the above to be about 50 minutes not 100! Even allowing for takeoff/approach/landing that seems excessive.

Thank You,

Simon

hum, I'm looking from CDG to BRE, that's 338NM - with 737-500, 424 ktas airplanes. First leg says "taxi time 24mn, time airborne 57mn". Second leg says "taxi time 22mn, time airbonre 1h04". So it seems to depend both on airport size and wind.

When editing/creating the route, if you leave your mouse pointer above the "?" to the right of the flight time, what does it say?

gotcha - thanks! didn't have a "Hover" button on my android 5.5" phone! Did it on a PC and the question mark explained all - thanks!
